Survey Report: IP Investment Trends in the Nordic region

In light of the evolving IP trends within the Nordic region, Legal IQ have conducted a survey of 100+ regional IP leaders to gain an understanding of the main challenges they are facing within their roles. The following reports collects these findings and summarises the key takeaways for yourselves.

Key findings from this report:

  • 94% of respondents were of the opinion that their IP strategy supports the business to deliver its projection and the same number believe that staff in their organisation recognise the importance of IP
  • Only 20% of respondents named ‘adopting open innovation’ as a topic most relevant to their business, suggesting that safeguarding IP may be of greater importance to many organisations than a more collaborative strategy
  • Given the openness of innovation in the Nordics, surprising 59% are open to collaboration with the right partner, therefore, driving internal innovation is determined by who the business would be willing to partner with
  • 3/4 of respondents rate their IP valuation process as ‘Established’ or ‘Works for us’ suggesting that most organisations are aware of the future economic benefits brought about by their IP assets
